Encomiums as Comptroller Rasheed Adahunse Celebrates 60, Retirement in Lagos

It was a thrilling and fantastic moment as friends, family, businessmen and women poured encomium and eulogies on Comptroller Rasheed Agbolade Adahunse over his diligence, contributions to Nigeria Customs Service(NCS) and humanity to the Country as he celebrated 60 years of age cum retirement.

October 23, 2023 marked his last day in Service as he attained mandatory retirement age of sixty and Customs officials, families and well wishers from different walks of life stormed 'Blessings Hall of the Eko Club' Surulere, Lagos, on Sunday November 12, 2023 in honour of Comptroller Rasheed Agbolade to celebrate him.

It was a praise galore for the Comptroller as the President, Old Student Association of Ansar-ud-deen High School, Ijebu Isiwo, between 1976 and 1981, Alhaji Rafiu Adefuwa, described him as a very hardworking and humble gentleman with an unstained record.

Alhaji Rafiu said it is a privilege for someone to retire in good health and expressed trust that even while in retirement, Comptroller Rasheed will still record greater achievement.

His words,"We graduated from Ansar-ud-deen Society School Ijebu Isiwo 1976-81. He is an impactful person throughout the period we've known him to be a resilient person, that is why we gathered here to make sure our impact is being felt in today's celebration. With his retirement, he is a vibrant officer who has served his father's Land and will still do more even after service."

Alhaja Olabisi Orisan, also a member of the association showered him with prayers saying Comptroller Adahunse is a very good friend, who has been active through thick and thin as the Governor General of Ansar-ud-deen Society School Ijebu Isiwo Old Student Association. 'I wish him continuous success and will enjoined him to live a quiet and simple life all through after his retirement. He should engage and invest in what his family will gain more from after this retirement," she said.

Beaming with smiles as she exchanged pleasantries with her guests, Waka Music Queen, Salawatu Ibiwunmi Abeni, when interviewed described her hubby as a patriotic, devoted human being whom she is found of and felt relieved as he successfully retired from Service.

In her words, "I'm happy that he successfully retired from Service. I thank God for him and wish him well in all his endeavors. May the Almighty continue to preserve him for the best and grant him his his heart desires. He is my man and I appreciate him more for everything as I enjoyed and understand love more through him. May God Almighty increase him more in his deeds."

On his part, Comptroller Rasheed Agbolade Adahunse, who was overwhelmed with the turnout at the ceremony expressed gratitude towards the organizers of the event and also appreciated families and well wishers for the love shown to him.

To him, "I'm extremely happy, I didn't expect a lot of people to come out enmasse to celebrate me. This implies that when you are doing anything in life, always do it diligently as you don't know who is watching. You should always do good and I'm fully impressed with what I saw. I'm very grateful to those who organized the event on my behalf. I also thank God for making today a successful one. 

"For those in service, my advice for them is that they should do it with one mind and honesty. They should try to do their best and with time people will recognize their importance especially while they are in service."

Speaking on likely investment to venture in after service, Comptroller Rasheed declared that his investment will focus more on adding value to the society but will be taking a break first.

Comptroller Rasheed Agbolade Adahunse served at different Units, Departments and Commands of the Nigeria Customs Service(NCS) which includes -Seme Area Command(Enforcement, Investigation and Inspection Department); Ogun Area 1Commamd Idiroko; Oyo/ Osun Command; Federal Operations Unit Minna; Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara Command; Cross River/Akwa Ibom Command; Imo/Abia Area Command; APapa Area Command; Murtala Muhammad International Airport Command Ikeja; Federal Operations Unit, Zone A Ikeja, among others.

He has served as the Deputy Comptroller, Enforcement Seme Command; Deputy Comptroller Gate Control Port Harcourt Area 1 Command, Comptroller Administration, Zonal Headquarters, Port Harcourt. His last appointment in Service before retiring was as the Commandant, Customs Training College, Dogon Dutse, Kano.

He is happily married with two wives- Sherifat Adejoke Adahunse and Waka Music Queen, Salawat Ibiwunmi Abeni and many Children.
